New Services & Important Intiatives brought about by the election Angela Shelton's administration in the Madison County's Recorder's office.  Angela will bring th same proven leadership, and committed conservative principals to the Auditor's office if elected!  


Angela Shelton's administration's had very clear goals that she set out to accomplish in her term in office. Our goal was and is to provide the very best in customer service to the citizens in Madison County. Because our quality control standards are high, our administration brought about lasting change in Madison County. Our goal is to always deliver change that would benefit the citizens of Madison County. Here is a list of services, and changes Angela achieved during her time in office.


New Services:

PROPERTY FRAUD ALERT

In March of 2011, the Madison County Recorder's office with the leadership of Angela Shelton launched a free service to Madison County property owners called Property Watch Alert. This is a proactive servic that provides property owner's a tool to protect their home from property, and mortgage fraud. Property and mortgage fraud is a form of identy theft with is the fastest growing crime in the United States according to the FBI. Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller has joined the Indiana Recorder's Association to encourage Recorder's sate wide to offer this service.

New Services:

RECORDED DOCUMENTS ONLINE

During Angela Shelton's term in office she ful-filled her promise to provide online access to the Madison County Recorder's office. Fidlar Technologies is a company Angela partnered with to provide online access to recorded documents online. This access was offered on the Recorder's office home page which gave citizens, and customer's of the recorder's office the opportunity to access the recorded instruments online 24 hours a day without having to drive downtown to the county courthouse.

E-RECORDING OF DOCUMENTS

Recently the Madison County Recorder's office signed a contract to implement E-Recording in the recorder's office. E-Recording is fast, secure, and economical. E-recording allows the documents to be submitted and recorded in a couple of days even hours. Currently the Maidson County Recorder's office E


Initiatives:

MILITARY DISCHARGE RECORDS

Angela Shelton has worked diligently with the cooperation of Madison County Veteran's Services to promote the recording of military discharge records. The discharge needs to be on file at the recorder's office gor state, federal, and county benefits. Also, for the families benefit after the veteran passes to, ensure her or she receives proper honors.

DIGITILIZATION OF HISTORICAL RECORDS

We are happy to announce that a recently approved contract with Fidlar Technologies, Inc. allowed the Madison County Recorder's office to protect 1,025 books of landrecords in a digital format preserving them for longevity, add more historical documents online. Stage one of this process is complete! The goal was to digitize the recorded documents for Madison County for the past 30 years. The second goal was to digitize the records for the past 50 years. The property records for the recorder's office have been scanned back to 1960 millions of documents that are now protected as part of Angela Shelton's disater recovery plan.
